There are three types of fat in the body. 1) in the muscles, 2) in the subcutis and 3) inside the abdominal cavity among the organs = visceral fat.

We are not able to directly influence muscle fat. We hear a lot about subcutaneous fat. We know that we can get rid of it by movement and that it is more or less aesthetic. But what is not talked about so much is a much more insidious and dangerous fat visceral. It can only be detected by measuring on the bioimpedance device (I recommend InBody). We assess the amount of fat in the transversal section of the abdominal cavity. The normal amount is up to 70 cm2. If this amount is greater than 100 cm2, it envelops the internal organs and devastates healthy cells (liver, pancreas, kidney, heart), causing a lot of health complications. Metabolism slows down, insulin resistance develops, the immune system is being depleted. It causes snoring and breathing disorders while sleeping as well. The sex drive disappears.

Visceral fat begins to store in the following cases:

  1. Low-quality food. These are highly processed foods, instant items, semi-finished products, foods with synthetic additives.
  2. Irregularity or lack of food. In these cases, the body stores energy in the form of fat. It saves all the energy, leading to a slowdown in metabolism and the inability to lose weight.
  3. Overeating. Excess energy is not used by the body and it is stored as fat.
  4. Alcohol. The body perceives it as poison - toxin and immediately tries to process and exclude it. With consuming food, energy from food is unused and stored as fat.
  5. Stress, mental strain. It is a blocker of properly functioning metabolism.

The only way how to reduce visceral fat is proper nutrition. The results are already visible after a few days. The involvement of some physical activity will greatly help with starting the metabolism work and fat burning. Often it is enough to have a brisk daily walk (for example to work).

Regular movement with a regular diet in sufficient quantity will guarantee the adjustment of the metabolism and thus the reduction of visceral fat. Keep in mind that when losing weight, the energy intake needs to be slightly less than the energy expenditure. Every more proficient nutritional specialist should calculate the right daily energy requirement.
